Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University concludes a course on modern methods in manufacturing medical glasses
The Department of Vision Examination Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies/Kufa, one of the formations of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, concluded a training course entitled “Modern Methods in Manufacturing Medical Glasses,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Hassan Abdul Hadi Al-Jabri.
The course aimed to shed light on the latest methods and technologies used in the design and manufacture of medical glasses, which allows improving their quality and meeting the diverse needs of patients and consumers. The course began with a comprehensive explanation of the materials used in the manufacture of frames and lenses, such as plastic, glass, and titanium, in addition to the presentation of traditional and modern techniques in the manufacture of glasses. The use of advanced technology such as three-dimensional printing in the manufacture of frames and lens design was also touched upon. The session pointed out the importance of taking into account international quality standards during manufacturing, and the impact of these standards in improving visual performance and reducing the risks resulting from poor products. Recent innovations, such as multifocal lenses and lenses with blue ray protection, were also highlighted. The course concluded with an interactive session that discussed the marketing and promotion skills of medical glasses, and how to keep up with the latest global market trends. The importance of understanding the needs of patients and customers to ensure the delivery of effective and convenient visual solutions was also clarified.The course also came up with recommendations that emphasize the importance of integrating advanced technology into manufacturing processes, and the need to train specialized cadres to enhance production efficiency and ensure the provision of high-quality products.
