Master thesis at the Faculty of Health and medical technologies Kufa on factors associated with drug abuse

A master’s thesis at the Faculty of Health and medical technologies/Kufa, one of the formations of the Middle Euphrates Technical University, examined the factors associated with drug use among prisoners and detainees in Najaf governorate .
The study, presented by the student Hassanein Ibrahim Hakim from the Department of Community Health Technologies, aims to study the demographic, behavioral and psychological characteristics of users. A study of the most used narcotic drugs, find out the sources of obtaining them and find out the patterns of drug use and the diagnostic history of abuse.
The results of the study showed that the majority of users were male and uneducated who lived in informal areas that lacked the elements of life, and there was a strong association between users and their families who had a history of substance abuse.
The letter recommended that more studies be conducted in the future, based on more than one category of the population .Which can predict drug use
