Faculty of Health and medical technologies / Kufa organizes a scientific symposium on the effects of smoking and drugs on human health

Due to its effects on the environment and the ecosystem in general, and on humans in particular, as the most important components of this system, the Department of visual examination techniques at the Faculty of Health and medical technologies/Kufa, one of the formations of the Middle Euphrates Technical University, organized a seminar entitled the harms of smoking and drugs on human health.
The seminar aimed to introduce the impact of smoking globally, as it is considered one of the most important causes of chronic diseases, atherosclerosis, and poses the greatest risk of sudden death due to heart attack, in addition to the economic losses caused by smoking.
The seminar also pointed out that smoking is a precursor to addiction to some types of drugs, especially with the entry of the so-called ( Electronic cigarettes) electronic cigarette such as( Vape), where the increase and spread of this phenomenon has been observed at a high level, in light of the spread of cafes as well as its promotion through social networking sites and others. Drug use by smoking also leads to health effects, both short and long-term, such as damage to the nervous system, and then the destruction of brain cells،
A decrease in learning abilities, lung cancer and bronchitis.
The seminar concluded by recalling the importance of staying away from substances that are included in the composition of smokehouses, as these substances may be narcotic, addictive and lead to cancers, and to undesirable consequences, which ultimately lead to harm to the individual, family and society, the user is under penalty of the law .
