Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University organizes a scientific symposium on the phenomenon of earthquakes.

The reconstruction and Projects Unit, in cooperation with the women’s Affairs Division, organized a scientific symposium on earthquakes, their severity and the causes of their occurrence at the Faculty of Health and medical technologies/Kufa, one of the formations of the Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University The seminar dealt with a number of topics, the most important of which are the definition of earthquakes or earthquakes, the main reasons behind their occurrence, as well as a detailed explanation of tectonic plates, their types and movement, which result in earthquakes, and the most important metrics adopted in measuring them .
The seminar aimed to spread awareness among the faculty members on the topic of earthquakes and methods of preventing the dangers caused by them, and to review the recommendations issued by the National Center in the National Control Authority to avoid the dangers of earthquakes.
Professor Dr. Angham Jassim Al-Ramahi, dean of the College, pointed out that the seminar came after the increased seismic activity in the Arab ocean, and to the recent periods, in anticipation of the related effects in some regions and provinces of Iraq.
