Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University organizes a workshop entitled Comparison between refractive error correction operations.

The Department of visual inspection techniques at the Faculty of Health and medical technologies/Kufa, one of the formations of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University organized a workshop entitled (Comparison of refractive error correction operations in the eye of patients LASIK | PRK | SMILE.
The workshop aimed at comparing refractive error correction operations in the eye of patients, which can allow freedom of choice for the type of operation suitable for each case.
The workshop began by explaining that laser vision correction operations are one of the common and effective options for correcting refractive errors in the eye, including LASIK, PRK and smile, with an explanation of the steps of each method, and the time required for the patient to gain his full recovery.
The workshop pointed out that the choice of the type of operation depends on several factors, including the thickness of the cornea, the required vision, and personal needs, and it is always preferable to consult an ophthalmologist to determine the most appropriate option based on the individual case of each patient.
The workshop concluded by explaining the most important complications that can lead to vision loss,as well as the presence of some common side effects of eye surgery, such as dry eyes and temporary visual problems such as glare. The risks can also be significantly reduced by strictly following the instructions of the ophthalmologist.
