Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University holds an educational symposium on combating violence against women

Given the importance of community awareness and education on important issues that will preserve the social fabric, and under the patronage of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Angham Jassim Al-Ramahi, Dean of the College, the Department of Cosmetic and Laser Sciences at the College of Health and Medical Technologies/Kufa, established one of the formations of… Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, in cooperation with the Community Police / Najaf Al-Ashraf Branch, held an educational seminar on violence against women.

The symposium aimed to provide support to women by ensuring their rights, enhancing their role in society, and the importance of providing various services, including awareness, psychological support, and legal assistance.
The symposium, which was held in the college library hall, emphasized the importance of preserving women’s rights, appreciating them, and rejecting all forms of violence to which they are exposed, as they represent half of society.

The seminar, which was attended by Colonel (Zia Kazem Majid zwin), director of the community police in Najaf, discussed the most important topics related to laws that have been established to protect women from all forms of violence, namely physical violence, psychological violence, economic violence, sexual violence, social violence, and introducing the concept of international and national frameworks to combat violence against women, which is a serious violation of human rights and has negative effects on women and society as a whole, in addition to explaining the draft law against domestic violence.
At the end of the seminar, the lecturers were honored by the Department of cosmetic and laser technologies, Prof. Dr. Hassan Ali Farman, who in turn conveyed Dr. Al-Ramahi’s greetings to the guests .
