I discussed at the Faculty of Health and Medical Technologies / Kufa, one of the teams of the University of Al-Frat Al-Awsat Technical, the Master’s message titled “The impact of training and education for children on the expected therapeutic outcomes at the Al-Zahra Educational Hospital in Najaf Al-Ashraf”.
The study, presented by student “Mohamed Rafa Reza” from the Department of Community Health Technologies at the college, aimed to assess the general levels of knowledge and trends regarding childcare among nurses working in childcare units, and identify the relationship between these variables and previous training.
The results showed the case group had a good knowledge level of 54.6% compared to 22.0% in the witness group, while negative trends appeared in 63.8% of witnesses against 15.6% of cases. There is also a clear link between training in childcare and improving both knowledge and trends. The training programs encompassed a variety of topics such as emergencies and medication safety, and 85.1% of nurse-trained believed they were adequately trained. Also, positive relations between medium and strong between previous training and improved levels of knowledge and trends were discovered.
Pediatric specialist training should be mandatory for all nurses working in pediatric halls, the study recommended. She also stressed the need for training programmes to include hands-on practices delivered under the supervision of child care specialists, focusing on aspects of high importance such as medication safety and emergency response. The study also emphasized the importance of subjecting these programs to an annual review and regular assessments of nursing staff to ensure they remain up-to-date and effective.
