Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University organizes a symposium entitled The effect of chemical cleaning powders on the human respiratory system

The Department of visual inspection techniques at the Faculty of Health and medical technologies / Kufa, one of the formations of theAl-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University , organized a seminar entitled (The effect of chemical cleaning powders on the human respiratory system.
The seminar aims to introduce washing powders, their types, chemical composition and the health effects of excessive use, especially when aspects of prevention are not taken into account.
The seminar began by introducing the importance of detergents in daily life to get rid of dirt and to kill or reduce the transmission of pathogenic germs.their role has emerged during the corona pandemic, the types of chemical detergents and their mode of operation; she also explained that excessive use of detergents in an thoughtless manner will be directly on human health in general and on the respiratory system in particular.
Disinfectants and sterilizers used in disinfecting and disinfecting floors and bathrooms contain phenol and carnelian in addition to insecticides, chemical compounds and elements, such as phosphorus, naphthalene, ammonia and some organic mineral acids.
These compounds are also considered to have a wide spectrum of risks such as cough, bronchitis, heart disease, lung cancer, allergies, skin diseases, affecting the nervous and immune systems, in addition to Burns, vision loss, causing fires and various deformities.
At the end of the seminar, it was emphasized a set of recommendations that can prevent and reduce the impact of these substances, such as improving indoor air quality, the presence of emergency exits, the need for safety and security means, and the importance of having a medical pharmacy containing some treatments to reduce the effects of exposure until medical assistance arrives.
