As part of its ongoing efforts to enrich the educational process with global expertise in medical specialties directly related to human health, the Department of Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy Technologies<\/strong> at the College of Health and Medical Technologies \/ Kufa<\/strong>, one of the formations of the Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University<\/strong>, organized a specialized training course entitled \u201cInternational Dry Needling (Basic Level)\u201d<\/em>, held from October 28\u201329, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The course was delivered by Professor Dr. Hani Ali Qasim Al-Uqaili<\/strong>, an international trainer from Doha, Qatar, and was attended by physiotherapy specialists from the Ministry of Health<\/strong>, professionals from various provinces<\/strong>, as well as students from the department<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The course aimed to enhance participants\u2019 competence in managing musculoskeletal and myofascial pain<\/strong> by introducing them to the latest therapeutic approaches and technical applications in dry needling therapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first day<\/strong> of the training focused on explaining theories of myofascial trigger points<\/strong>, the development stages of the dry needling concept<\/strong>, as well as precautions and safe practices<\/strong> for using the needles. It also reviewed recent global advancements<\/strong> in therapeutic techniques widely applied in clinical practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The second day<\/strong> was dedicated to the practical component<\/strong>, featuring intensive hands-on training<\/strong> on upper and lower limb muscles, including detailed explanations of muscle anatomy<\/strong> and pain localization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In her remarks, Professor Dr. Angham Jassim Al-Rumahey<\/strong>, Dean of the College, emphasized that \u201cholding such courses is of great importance on multiple levels. It helps participants become acquainted with the latest therapeutic updates<\/strong> and proper examination techniques<\/strong> to develop effective treatment plans<\/strong>.
