Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University has achieved a remarkable academic and environmental achievement after being ranked fourth on the level of Iraqi universities in the UI GreenMetric global ranking for 2025, which is concerned to evaluate universities according to sustainability standards, green university environment, energy management, transportation, and environmentally friendly infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Professor Dr. Hussein Latif Al-Zubaidi, President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University , blessed this achievement, which is an important step towards realizing the vision of the University of being one of the pioneering universities in the field of sustainability at the regional level, keeping up with the global standards in green management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This achievement comes as a result of the University\u2019s continuous efforts to promote the principles of sustainable development, improve resource efficiency, and develop its facilities and laboratories in line with the Global Green Universities policies. The direct support from the University Presidency and the ongoing efforts of the colleges and institutes in implementing eco-friendly projects and promoting environmental awareness among students and stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As Mr. President of the university appreciated the important role of the departments of the Scientific Assistant and the efforts of the Quality Assurance and Performance Department \/ Sustainable Development Unit, the Central Ranking Committee and the sub-ranking committees in colleges and institutes for their efforts to raise the university’s rank in this ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The UIGreenMetric ranking represents an approved global standard for assessing universities according to six major axes which include: Infrastructure, Energy and Climate Change, Waste Management, Water, Transport, Education and Research. The final results have shown that Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University has made significant progress in all axes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the University Center rose globally to get a rank (197) globally among (1745) University from different parts of the world. The results of the UI GreenMetric ranking are an internationally important indicator of the competence of universities in managing their resources and improving their learning environment, with hundreds of universities around the world participating annually, giving this achievement double importance to Al-Furat Technical University in order to strengthen its position among global universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
